About the Archive

The Alberta Pioneer Railway Society maintains an archive of historical records and items about the Railways in Alberta and Western Canada. Most of the items refer to the Northern Alberta Railway and Canadian National Railway, there are many items that refer to Canadian Pacific, Edmonton Yukon and Pacific as well as other railways that existed in the past.
The collections of the APRA are maintained at two locations. The first is the Northern Alberta Railway Museum, located at 24215 - 34 St. Edmonton, AB. This location holds all the rolling stock (engines, cars, MOW equipment and physical artifacts)
The second location is at the Provincial Archive of Alberta, located at 8555 Roper Road, Edmonton, AB. The collection located at the PAA consists of Photographs and slides, books, maps, drawings, magazines and films. The collection of books is searchable from the PAA web site and the remaining collection is searchable through this web site
